I loved everything about this edition - as usual, your narratives are informative, and authentic. My kids loved our family road trips and this sentimental mother-daughter adventure inspires possible future trips I may take with my own daughter. A nice escape and thanks for the book recommendations.
I really enjoyed your road trip story Helen.-and laughed out loud at you sleeping through an earthquake. Inspiring to hear about women writing and getting published later in life.
WOW, Helen, I wish I had met your mother when she was writing and driving to lit fests! She sounds like an extraordinary woman. Now we know where your talents come from.
That's very nice to hear, Heather. A lot of memories came back to me once I started writing it - both this trip and others. There is something about those shared long drives, close proximity, time to either talk, or sit together in silence and think.
Another great read! I thoroughly enjoyed reading about this road trip with Mom albeit with tears streaming down my face. While I knew you went on the road trip I found the details illuminating. It’s wasn’t just my music in the car she didn’t like (lol), the whole “cheap and cheerful” totally describes my own road trip to Florida with Mom. Funny how a small comment can bring so many memories to come flooding back. As they say Thanks for the memories. ❤️😘🥰

Funny, poignant, empowering. Loved the recounting of road trip with your mother -- 65 when she first published. I live in hope!
Road trips with my mum created some of my fondest memories of her - thanks so much for bringing those back to me today with this.

I cried when writing it! ❤️
I remember a trip with you and your mom to DC. All we listened to on the radio was Boy George the entire trip :)❤️ Your tribute !
That's too funny! I had forgotten that trip. If we managed to listen to the radio the whole way that's because you were in the car. 😀
Loved this tribute to your Mom on International Women's Day Jane
Thanks so much, Jane!
